FOR AS LONG AS WE BOTH HAVE LIVED.
My work is an ongoing quest as to my longing for the past. A past that is beyond my own.

Using found images from my growing archive that date from the forties to the sixties, I make paintings that depict cut-off portraits of a larger image. By zooming in, you lose information of the greater picture. The subjects are taken out of their own context and are placed in a new environment, inviting you to fill in the narrative and wonder. My graduation work will be a series of paintings that create a nostalgic, utopian environment. I present you with a non-factual history, a fictional nostalgia.
